Podcast 01 (test)Welcome
to the Carty FM Podcasts. The hope is to
bring a new one every month (yeah, right). Each will contain one hour of
music and a little chat. The music will not entirely be Ant or Carty mixes.
Although you can expect an Ant flavour with each show. Now
again, Special Podcasts are produced which can be very unpredictable
both in content and timing.

The podcasts, which will follow a radio programme
format, can be obtained direct to your PC's desktop by using podcast
software, or you can listen and download them online from
PodcastAlley.com
Expect some very varied selections for each month's
play list.
Including:
- Rare Ant cover versions
- Rare Ant tracks (and I mean rare)
- Rare tracks featuring ex-Ants
- Featured MySpace track of the
month (assuming I can find one)
- A taster of future Carty mixes and
productions.
- Some unreleased Carty mixes and
demos
- Tracks that filled floors for me
in my club DJ days
- Tracks that sound damn good on the
radio
- Stuff I'm not even supposed to
play (so I won't...blink and you will miss it)
- And other stuff I haven't thought
of yet.

WHAT IS A PODCAST?
In simple terms it's just an mp3.
Podcasting is a new way of listening to radio shows and you don't
have to own an iPod or a radio to do it. (Thank God for that!)
You can get a podcasted show (e.g. Carty FM) sent to your computer
automatically so that you can listen to the show at a time that is
most convenient to you.
When you subscribe to a podcast, it will automatically download to
your computer whenever a new show is produced, allowing you to
decide when and how you choose to listen.
The internet has opened a whole world of choice to radio listeners,
allowing them to tune in to stations from all over the world that
accommodate even the most obscure musical tastes. But many people
don't really enjoy listening to internet radio for too long while
they have to sit at their desk and stare at their computer monitor.
The aim of podcasters is to free the listener from their PC and from
the whims of radio schedulers.
If you have an mp3 player you can put the podcast on your player and
listen to it wherever and whenever you like.
WHAT DO I NEED
TO RECEIVE PODCASTS?
You can ignore all of this section
and just go to
PodcastAlley.com, where you can listen to or download the
Carty FM Podcasts.
You don't actually need a portable
mp3 player or an iPod to listen to podcasts unless you need to hear
them on the move. Any personal computer will do, as long as your
personal computer has a soundcard and an internet connection.
It's doesn't matter if you own an Apple computer or a Windows PC. If
your PC can play mp3s downloaded from the internet, you can listen
to podcasts. (People own a portable mp3 player still need an
internet connection to download music and software on their computer
to manage their music collection.)
You will also need some podcasting software. This will allow you to
search for and subscribe to your favourite podcasts and have them
downloaded automatically to your computer whenever a new episode or
show is produced.
Most podcasting software is shareware, which means it is free and
available to download from the internet.
If you are an iPod owner, Apple's recent version iTunes software now
includes a podcast directory, making it easy to subscribe to and
download podcasts without additional software.
Here is just a few of the podcasting software sites and
directories out there:
One you have downloaded your podcast
software. all you need to do to subscribe to the Carty FM Podcasts
is to add the following URL into the program.
