Adam Ant News - Is the planned Adam Ant coffee table book under threat due to online interest not meeting expectations?

News of the book, which is tentatively called "Adam Ant Art", has spread over recent weeks due to the publishers marketing the book at 80's related sites and blogs. Yet it seems with many fans expressing interest in multiple copies, the planned "...lavish, full colour hardback..." hasn't generated "enough interest...and they are looking into another way of packaging this book", so the Ant Rap forum reports.

The forum goes on to state that only a third of the required votes were logged on the site set up to measure the book's interest level. "This doesn't mean it wont happen but a change in strategy may be required."

The adamantbook.com website gave fans a taste of what the inside of the book may have looked like, such as a chapter called "Sketches & Ideas" which displayed Adam's cover ideas for the Puss 'N Boots single, costume ideas (left) for a 1983 Top Of The Pops performance, and a sketch idea for the Strip LP sleeve.

It has to be said that the adamantbook.com site makes no reference to the book being scaled down or to any other chance of plan for that matter. It still stresses that the book is only being considered at this stage and that Essential Works need to the assess the level of interest from the fans.
