Carty News
- July 17th is Carty's birthday and this year his partner (a.k.a. Ant Lady)
commissioned AntComics creator Amy Hankins to create a cartoon
drawing of Adam, his Ants and Carty's light blue car logo.
The result is a 13" x 10¼" (33cm x 26cm)
masterpiece depicting the Prince Charming era line-up having serious car
trouble. Click the drawing below to view a larger scan so that you can
read the speech bubbles.

If you want to follow the exploits of Adam & the Ants in
cartoon format, Amy has created AntComics - a series of cartoon strips
about the band. To date, there are 17 hilarious strips in the
collection and can be viewed via the
AntComics
website and
MySpace page.
It's not the first time Adam has inspired cartoon
creators. In the 1980's UK comic WOW introduced
Adam And His Ants as their back page strip. However this
story was about a waistcoat wearing boy named Adam and his friendly
insects who always saved the day for him. (This vintage strip will
be reproduced in full on this site at a future date)
Adam has also appeared in cartoon form in mini-strips in
music publications such as NME when depicting music history
stories, and not forgetting the TOPS Adventures Of Adam Ant
series from 1981/2 (which I DID forget - thanks Steve Ant). However nothing touches the AntComics pieces.
Info on commissioning your own AntComic
drawing can be found
here.
