NEW ANT SITE

Click it to visit.
Ant News - A
brand new Adam Ant homepage has been created as part of the
Database Dreams collection of websites, who's aim is to "become an
INTERACTIVE ENCYCLOPEDIA of music dating from the 20's to today".
The new site has been created by Andrey and
is well worthy of a poke around...especially for it's colour scheme and news
sources. ;-).

ADAM-ANT.NET CONFIRM
ANT DVD LISTING

part of the back (from adam-ant.net)
Ant News - The
official Adam Ant web site adam-ant.net have announced
confirmation of the track listing for the forthcoming DVD -
Digital Tenderness. The site also announced
that the release date is now early March 2006. Marco had
previously told this site in an interview recorded in October 2005, that it was
February. He also mentioned that the Demo Box
Set may be released to coincide with Adam's autobiography
Stand & Deliver, but the official site
claims that it is planned for release before his memoirs.
The site's news page also includes brief details on
Ant tunes making appearances in forthcoming TV ads, films and TV shows.
Including an MTV mash-up mix featuring Goody Two Shoes.
Expect some deeper digging on that one!

MARCO TRACK
GETS DANISH SINGLE RELEASE

Glamorama features Marco Pirroni
Marco News - A
track featuring Marco Pirroni on guitar is to be released as a single in
the New Year. Danish band Glamorama's current self-titled album
features the track "Flammer" (which means flame or blaze).
It was released in Denmark on November 3rd 2005 (which is also Adam's
birthday), and also features Roxy Music guitarist Chris Spedding
on the bonus track "Chance Meeting".
The album was produced and composed by Danish
guitarist Johnny Stage, who also did an eight page interview with Marco
in 2004 to promote the SEX album for the Danish
magazine, Gaffa.

Johnny has kindly donated two images from the
recording session of "Flammer", which took place in London, back in May
2004. Johnny says that, "Marco is playing all the guitars (really cool)
on the track," and I have to agree. This is a fantastic track and
Marco's playing compliments the female vocalist, Lotte Arnsbjerg, perfectly.
The track has been edited for radio from the album
to be promoted in Denmark in January 2006.

Ant News -
Adam Ant's guest appearance in the US TV series, Northern Exposure,
is to be released on DVD in the US on March 28th 2006. The
Complete Fourth Season DVD features 25 episodes, of which Adam appears in
the fourth one, "Heroes". The DVD is now available for pre-order,
and
amazon.com already have a review of all the episodes on the collection.
It says of Adam's episode:
4.4 Heroes
Chris must decide what to do with his deceased friend's
remains (Tooley). A heavy-metal rock star (Guest star Adam
Ant) mistakenly arrives in Cicely instead of Sicily. |

No news of a UK release has been announced at this time.

RARE ADAM
VIDEO ON COPELAND SITE

The Soundtrack album cover
Ant News - The
video to the Adam Ant collaboration with the ex-Police drummer has
appeared on the Stewart Copeland
official website.
"Out Of Bounds" was recorded as the soundtrack to the movie of the same name and
was released as a single in the US in 1986. It was never released in the
UK.
The video clip, which can be viewed
here, seems to be taken from a music television broadcast. It seems to
be a lesser quality version of the Real Player version that most Ant fans are
familiar with.
Mr. Copeland regularly visits his own forum, and
they have a (small) thread dedicated to this song/video. You can visit
that thread
here.

ANT DVD AND
DEMO BOX RELEASE DATES?
Ant News - A
little birdie has flown into my left ear to tell me that the planned release
date of the Ant DVD, Digital Tenderness, is
some time in February 2006. No exact date is known yet, but that
should be made available soon (it is hoped).
Also, another little bird as flown into my right ear
to tell me that the Ants demo box set is to be released on the Decca
label. The plan is to coincide it with the release of the Adam Ant
autobiography "Stand & Deliver" (which has already been written).
All of the above would explain the constant singing
in my head. Sleep with one eye open. The owls are not what they
seem.

CARTY TO WORK
WITH EX-ANT
Carty
News - I am being deliberately vague until details have been
confirmed properly, but one ex-Ant has asked me to contribute on his new album,
due for recording in Jan/Feb 2006. More details will follow on this site.

DMC TO RELEASE
MORE CARTY REMIXES?
Carty
News - Following on from the inclusion of the Rachel Stevens vs
Adam Ant mix on issue 274 of
DMC's Commercial Collection CD's, the DJ only organisation have shown
interest in two further Carty mixes. Crazy Ant's "Yabba Ding
Ding" and an edited version of the Pussycat Dolls' "Don't Cha"
are currently waiting for clearance from the record companies for inclusion on
the February CD.
"Yabba Ding Ding", which was featured on the
Carty Mixes Volume 7, seems the
more likely to get sample clearance. The Crazy Frog samples are
cleared for use as are most of the Ant tunes. The "Don't Cha" mix
which includes cleared samples by Helicopter and Seduction has to
be sent to the Pussycat Dolls to obtain full clearance.
In addition to this DMC have asked for a
shortlist of mixes I would like to do (to clear the samples beforehand).
Two mixes are currently in production, with more ideas floating around for the
February edition. None of these feature Ant samples or tunes, but there's
plenty of time to feed the world a decent dose of Sexmusic for the
Antpeople in club land around the world.

ANT BLOG TO
INTERVIEW TERRY LEE MIALL
Ant News -
Former Ants' drummer, Terry Lee Miall, has agreed to be interviewed by
Steve Ant for his Ant Blog,
Music For A
Future Age. Steve already has Marco Pirroni contributing
exclusive comments to the weblog, so to secure Terry is a welcome boost to the
web's only Ant Blog. Music For A Future Age is due to launch its
own web site to run alongside it. Watch its progress
here.
Terry joins a string of new Ant related interviews
due online very soon. Kevin Mooney was interview for
Ant Lib recently.
A shortened version appeared in the Autumn/Winter edition of their bi-annual
No Response. A full version is expected on their site this month.
Also the Cartrouble site has once again interviewed
Marco Pirroni, the interview of which is ready for publishing online
pending some last minute adjustments and tweaks.
Terry Lee Miall has just finished recording a
session with English band
Mantra II for their new album released in March 2006, Werewolves Of
London. The band have also roped in Kevin Mooney who is due to
record his parts soon. The album also includes Marco and ex-Ant
bassist Chris (De Niro) Constantinou on the title track. That makes
4/5's an Ants reunion! All they need is Adam.
(Unfortunately, they get me in the form of a
Carty remix of their anthemic (Chant) Mantra II)

NEW NIALL X
MIX(ES)
Ant News - He
may hide in the shadows, and shy away from the spotlight he rightly deserves,
but Niall X has been busy churning out the Ant related mixes it seems.
Firstly, early attendees of the Ant Lib Disco
2005 were treated to a very special mix of both audio and video Ant
collagery (if there is such a word). A brand new Niall X production
was played before the disco started. But there was something uniquely
different about this one. The images on the video screen matched the
samples in the mix! The mix itself (which Niall X tells me is called
simply Mix4Caroline), was a superb mash of of some great Ant
moments. I seemed to be in glued to the screen at the very clever use of
the vocals from "Cartrouble".
Caroline Richards (Ant Ranger), who produces
the Warriors video compilations for Ant Lib had edited
together a collage of Ant visuals especially for this mix. (Why the hell
this wasn't mentioned before or since is beyond me). It is not known if he
will by making this available for download as yet.
However, there is a second mix which will be made
publicly available. It's called Enter Mistress Quickly and
is based around the guitar riff from the Ants demo "Catch A Falling Star".
With it's added strings and electric guitars it's another top mix.
So who is this masked man? It seems he has more than
one thing in common with another Ant remixer not too far away from here.
But we'll keep all that under wraps for now.

MANTRA
AND THE ANTS
Ant News -
Mantra II, the band who sampled most of Man Called Marco for their
vocalised version of the song, have roped in no less that FOUR ex-Ants on
their brand new album, Werewolves Of London.
Not only do Marco Pirroni and Chris (De
Niro) Constantino both play on the title track, but the band will soon be
recording with Terry Lee Miall and Kevin Mooney - the first time
on the same project for 24 years! The new track is due to be
recorded on December 3rd and has yet to be titled.
So, what about the planned news of the new
Werewolves Of London EP? The band have this to say on their
forum:
|
"Werewolves
of London" was originally planned to be a single, however
the production of the animated promo has taken longer than
estimated. We have recorded more tracks in the mean time so we
thought, “What the hell, album no. 2!”
This album will be focused on the punk/post punk/new romantic
sound that Mantra II have developed, whereas “This is
Called Fantasy” was more of a mix of ideas. (Formulative
if you like—but still fab!)
Two tracks which have very much crossed over will be included
on the new album: The "single" version of "Werewolves of
London" (featuring Marco P. And Chris
Constantinou, of course), and [Chant] Mantra 2,
which is Carty’s brand new “Filthy” mix. (He [Carty]
has totally re-recorded the music, and has also used his magic
to mix it with Catboy’s original vocals.)
The album should total 12 tracks in all. All up-tempo
punk/post punk-pop, which will appeal to Generation X’ers
and Millennium Trash alike. |
Which confirms that my remix of (Chant) Mantra
II is now called the Filthy Remix. A second remix has been
produced (the Rich Remix) and will probably be available after the
album's release in March 2006.
Mantra II have also sent me an exclusive promo of
what I can only describe as their best track yet. And that is just after
two listens! Don't We Miss You has some fantastic 'in your
face' guitars. The band describe it as a tribute to the Ramones,
and is reflected in the lyrics. Marco thinks it's great and if this
the taste of things to come I believe we will be hearing a lot more of Mantra
II in the future.
For those who are missing the boat, you'd better
jump on now before it's too late.
More on Mantra II
here.

CARTY RACHEL/ADAM
MIX RELEASED!!

For subscribing DJ's only
Carty
News - A mix from Carty
Mixes Volume 8 has been included on the DMC monthly double CD for
November 2005. The releases are exclusive to DJ's only and for
radio programmers. Since 1983, DMC (Disco Mix Club) have produced
mixes, remixes and megamixes every month for subscribers all around the world.
A CD copy of Rachel vs Adam -
Ant Said Never Again
(Backdoor Remix) (which features elements of
'Antmusic' and
Kings Of The Wild Frontier) was sent
in to DMC after I had asked Marco Pirroni if he had been sought
permission for such a mix from the DJ mix organisations. Seeing as no-one
as asked, he suggested I submit my mix. The mix now appears as the opening
track on CD of the Commercial Collection. Why they chose to use my real
name is beyond me, but at least they used my email address on the sleeve (and
paid me well for it!).
Two more Carty mixes are being mailed to DMC this
very week. One appears on
Carty Mixes Volume 7
and the other is from WTF Volume 2
(although edits may be applied).
NOTE: The Rachel vs Adam mix has
been removed from all Carty related sites until the month of December.
This is to respect the DJ's who pay good money for the remix service. I
was a paying member for almost 15 years and DMC are the major influence in my
mixing creations. Apologies.
Here are some links....there are many more out
there. Why it's vanished off the DMC pages has yet to be answered!

INSECT NATIØN

A mock-up of the winning design as a book

little late getting this news out as the winner was announced on Oct 22nd, but
the on-topic Ant forum,

Kings Of The Wild Frontier video.

Also, as an additional surprise for the winner, she
was also presented with an Insect Natiøn award of her winning design.

The award, before the triple Ant signings
And if that wasn't enough, both items were signed by

more than willing to sign it at the Ant Lib Disco
